The MIDI Association is back with the third annual May Is MIDI Month. MIMM is a unique collaboration among over 23,000 individuals and companies who work, play, and create with MIDI. 2020 has been a big year for the association with a lot of excitement about MIDI 2.0.
This year’s MIMM will have more news about MIDI 2.0 and 4 webinars (details further down) aimed to improve your music production skills. The MIDI Association and May Is MIDI Month sponsors are collecting donations for the Grammy MusiCares® COVID-19 Relief Fund. If you would like to join Producer Life and many others in helping out then you can follow the link below to donate.
Here’s the official from the MIDI Association:
Recognizing the toll that COVID-19 has taken on the creative community, this year’s May Is MIDI Month is soliciting donations from MIDI Association members with all proceeds going to the Grammy MusiCares® COVID-19 Relief Fund.
To help meet the goal of raising over $15,000, May Is MIDI Month sponsors Ableton, Art and Logic, Audio Modeling, Bome, IK Multimedia, Melodics, Moog, Roland. Steinberg, Sweetwater and Yamaha will match individual donations, turning a dollar donated into $10 for the cause.
May Is MIDI Month 2020 not only celebrates the technology and artists who use it, but the companies and developers that since 1983, have put aside their corporate rivalries to place the needs of artists first.
Come join the MIDI Association, and find out why 37 years after making its commercial debut, MIDI is bigger, more important, and more universal than ever.
During May Is MIDI Month your donation is 10 times as powerful!
Help us (MIDI Association) reach our goal of raising over $15,000 for the Musicares COVID Relief fund by May 31

The Bob Moog Foundation and The MIDI Association have had a close working relationship for many years.
Robert Moog’s daughter, Michelle Moog-Koussa, graciously agreed to provide some materials on synthesizers for the May Is MIDI Month 2020 promotion.
The MIDI Association have combined materials from the Bob Moog foundation with Ableton’s excellent interactive website for Learning Synths, Google’s Chrome Music Lab, and text from synth master Jerry Kovarsky, monthly columnist for Electronic Musician Magazine and author of Keyboard For Dummies.
Together these elements come together to make a great introduction to synthesis appropriate for students and musicians of all ages and levels. There are links to more information in each section. We really recommend you have a look, it kept our Producer Life minions pretty busy.
Join Minimoog artists, sound designers, and members of the Bob Moog Foundation in this celebration of one of the greatest synths of all time.
