DriveShaper by Cableguys is easily my favourite distortion style plugin. You can get this plugin on its own or as part of a bundle Being a fan of the ShaperBox 2 bundle already, it was great to see this new addition. This is free for existing ShaperBox owners. If you’ve used any of Cableguys shapers before you’ll feel right at home. The drawable LFOs and multiband control offer so much power and fine-tuning on your sound customising. This plugin works on a variety of things, not just bass. I love using it to create subtle evolving movement on leads or pads. And it’s great for adding life to otherwise dull loops and rhythms.

With 10 different styles of distortion and plenty of presets and shapes to get you started, this plugin provides instant entertainment. It’s a joy to look at, use and listen to. The distortions sound really crisp or warm when they need to be and there are some extra controls in the plugin that help you shape and control the distortion further.
