Luke Collins is the boss of the Producer Life world, and started the site as a personal blog. Around 2020, Luke developed Producer Life into the site you see today. Almost all of the content in the sample packs has been made by Luke. He is also in charge of the website, writing articles, YouTube videos and pretty much everything else!

Luke got into making music from a young age, studying classical piano at Yamaha Music School. In 2009 he took his first foray into electronic music production developing his skills in Propellerheads Reason. Later moving to use Ableton Live to create and develop his own sound.

In 2013 he had his first release and also started performing live sets as a controllerist and DJ. Playing on lineups with Bass6 and Mr Switch. Whilst using a Novation Launchpad to deliver his electro and techno-influenced, bass-driven productions.

A couple of years later his song “Turn On” was successfully released on Ayra Recordings. Then he had the first of many features on BBC Radio with his song “Dirty Happy People” released on Russia’s RunWest Records. His remix of ‘Miss Mants – Magic Powder’ also appeared in DJ Mag (Espàna).

Influenced by his friends, many of whom are producers, DJs and musicians. Luke spends the majority of his time in the studio creating. In 2016 he joined Plasmapool’s TRXX and Raise Recordings. Going on to make Beatport top 40 in 2018 with his song ‘Close To Me’, also appearing in many top 100 compilations such as Weekend Weapons, Press Play, and Straight Up! As well as featuring in Computer Music Magazine and having music showcased at SXSW Festival and Tomorrowland.

Over time an ever-growing number of people would ask Luke questions about music production. Appreciating how things like samples and presets can really help people learn the fundamentals of making a song, he decided it was time to start doing the same, providing resources to help people improve their music, and more importantly take the stress out of it so it’s fun to do. Consequently, the creation of Producer Life!
