TrapDrive by Diginoiz
TrapDrive by Diginoiz is a bass busting distortion plugin that has been influenced by heavily overdriven subs found in heavy trap music. What I love about this plugin though, is it can be used in a variety of ways. You can use it to add some crunch to your synths and vocals or subtle brighten them up. This is a flexible plugin that can quickly be slammed onto a single instrument or even a whole bus to create some wild distorted sounds.
This is probably my favourite distortion plugin for low end. The 8 different types of distortion give you lots to work with and it sounds great on EDM synths, heavy guitars and more. Just watch your ears as this plugin is intended to push the limits. This plugin is incredibly easy to use, the four main knobs offering quick control. Quite simply, the four main controls are for your input & output, one to choose from the 8 distortion types. And finally, one to control the amount.
It’s important to understand that the input and output controls play an important role when using distortion, especially the input. Increasing this can great a much more intense effect. Decrease it to go for a much more subtle approach. Of course, if you reduce or turn up the Input a lot you will need to adjust the output. Remember gain staging is important when producing, be careful that you don’t make your sounds too loud and mess up the balance of your mix.
It’s also very true what the developers, Diginoiz, say about this plugins extremeness. When you do crank up the knobs it can drastically destroy and increase the loudness of the sound. Personally, I would suggest using this plugin without headphones if you’re looking for a heavier distorted sound.
This plugin is optimised to work with luscious subs. Try it with Subdivine by Diginoiz to add another layer of distortion or use it with your favourite bass plugins.
